When Queens Go Bad.

A pair of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz have been stolen from a museum in Minnesota. Police Chief Leigh Serfling said: "There's not a whole lot of evidence. We're hoping that someone in the community has seen something." I think we know in just which community the chief should begin his investigation.

Vive la New Orleans

Joan d'Arc

Je Me Souvenir

It seems to early to tell just how badly New Orleans has been damaged by the big storm. Let's hope the destruction was minimal and that once again a hurricane is just something that makes frat boys throw-up on Bourbon Street.

"What irritates me is the bland way people go around saying, 'Oh, our attitude has changed. We don't dislike these people any more.' But by the strangest coincidence, they haven't taken away the injustice; the laws are still on the books." Christopher Isherwood Anglo-American novelist and playwright Born August 26,1904

My goddess of the moment Kathy Griffin continues in her quest to make me pee my pants every Wednesday night at 10. Last night on her show My Life on the D-List Kathy got a gig working the red carpet for E Entertainment TV 's coverage of this years Grammies. Never satisfied with the typical " Who are you wearing ?" or "How does it feel to be nominated?" our Kath asked Sean Combs (a.k.a Puffy,Puff Daddy,P.Diddy,Diddy) "What's your favorite dish at Olive Garden?" and my personal favorite "What's up with Jesus ?" She also outted Harry Conick Jr. for which I will love her for the rest of my life. I can't wait until next weeks episode. Kisses and I love your work.

Based on a True Story

In the zoo there are all kinds of animal families. But Tango's family is not like any of the others. Roy and Silo, two male penguins in the New York City zoo, spend every minute together--singing, swimming, playing. Their keeper decides, "They must be in love." This is the heartwarming story of Roy and Silo's journey to becoming father penguins. I'm sending a copy to my niece in VA. The book is available in most bookstores or you can order directly for A Different Light On-Line. Thanks to Keven.

Love Will Tear Us Apart.. Cha Cha Cha

I f like me you've ever wondered what it would sound like if Astrid Gilberto covered The Clash or Joy Division the answer is Nouvelle Vague. Nouvelle Vague is the latest release from French producers Marc Colins and Oliver Libaus " Nouvelle Vague is the marriage of "new wave" and "bossa nova," two incredibly precient yet improbable musical bedfellows... But it's really not that simple. The key twist is the fearless music that is translated (so to speak) into Nouvelle Vague." For samples and track listings check out Luka Bop Records .

" Don't Cha..."

Another great "mash-up" by San Francisco mixer D.J Earworm. This time he's mixing the Pussycat Dolls new track, "Don't Cha" with "Cyborg Dance" by Newcleus and Marvin Gaye's "Heard it through the Grapevine." Click the title link to check it out.
